We have had some lovely snowy wintery scenes in our lakeland gardens this week. The photographs show landscape images of the gardens in Ambleside and Far Sawry near Newby Bridge.
The winter garden in Ambleside looks fabulous with the red stems of the Cornus sibirica against the white stems of the Betula utilis Jacquemontii.
The country garden in Sawry is still effective in winter with the sculptural cleft oak trellis work, slate stone circle that stands out against the snow and planting such as cornus stems, grasses and evergreen shrubs that create structure and colour.
