We took on the project at Chapel Style, Langdale, Cumbria in December 2010, it is a beautiful country house in the Lake District.
Chris Rabone Landscapes are particularly proud of this project as the garden has unique features whilst sitting harmoniously within the surrounding countryside. The natural stone walls and steps lead you up and around the garden in a flowing manner, allowing you to appreciate the views of the lake district all around.
The two slate patio seating areas give rise for a great outdoor space, where the family can enjoy their morning coffee or afternoon and evening bbq's. There is a wide variety of colour and year round interest from the plants and shrubs along with a large turfed lawn. These bring the garden to life through all four seasons.
This particular project took us through part of the winter months and in to the spring, so by the time we were laying the turf and the plants we were moving in to the better weather and we were able to enjoy the developments of the project in the sunshine too.
We started the project in the depths of winter. On this particularly hostile year we had problems to overcome along the way, but we worked to keep the project within the timescale that we were allocated. The problems that we faced with were the snow, freezing temperatures and the lashing rain. However we were equipped with snow tyres so we could make it to site, propane heaters to battle the freezing temperatures and our own marquees to keep the water out and allow us to continue with paving and stone walling.
We have been carrying out garden maintenance in this garden every week since the landscaping was completed. The planting has really flourished over the years with the careful attention we give the garden.
