We have started a great project along lake Windermere, near Ambleside and Hawkshead. The client asked us to design and build a large pond and stream area with landform terraces down a sloping bank. Here are a few pictures to show the works in progress! The pond will have an oak deck curving around one half which will overhang the water deep water. There will be a natural stone wall that runs through the pond creating a shallow margin area where water loving plants can grow. On the site we have had 2 diggers and a tracked dumper to create the landform bankings and flat terraces. The heavy rain has made the site very wet and muddy, the tracked dumper has allowed us to keep working and moving materials around the site.
