Autumn is finally here with leaves turning beautiful shades of fiery reds and earthy oranges. We have enjoyed a fantastic spell of September weather and our lake district gardens are still looking spectacular with late season flowers and grasses coming into their own.
We have recently completed gardens in Cumbria including a spectacular lakeside property in Windermere creating an expansive terrace using local slate. Each slab was cut to fit according to our detailed plans using a combination of Westmorland Green and Burlington Blue slate in varying widths with contrasting setts used as an edging trim and to create feature areas. We have also completed another phase to a town house in Windermere creating a beautifully planted hillside with steps and ramped access from an overgrown scrub area.
One of our longterm established clients who live in a country house near Broughton in Furness asked us to develop another area of their garden creating over 50metres of handcrafted lakeland stone walling and a planted embankment together with a bog garden. Over the last 7 years we have designed and constructed several acres of their garden sculpting ponds, wildlife areas and planted terraces into the landscape and undertake regular maintenance.
We have recently completed some extensive planting schemes in a property along Windermere Lake Road and also for an old style Lakeland house in 'Beatrix Potter' country over at Far Sawry near Hawkshead. We also designed and built two pergolas from cleft oak timbers that we hand selected from a local sustainable woodland.
Don't forget to plant out bulbs for a fabulous show next spring. We are taking orders from our clients and will be planting out soon so please give us a call if you require any advise or bulbs.
